The Evolution of Music

Those of us who are in the entertainment industry are seeing the day to day changes that are upon us. This is a global evolutionary shift. We are not the only industry that is growing and evolving, but as creatives we must continue to find new income sources and outlet’s to have our art forms noticed. It’s important to expand, educate and grow in any business.

Currently MyLena Entertainment is working on new ventures in the United States and Europe. We are aligning with new partners to advance the visual and documentation side of the industry as well as the audio side of our business.  Each week over the next month we will introduce you to some of our new partners and our new artist and entertainment service divisions.

Nate Watts is laying down a new groove on Jazz…

The legendary bass player, Nate Watts, who has played with Stevie Wonder for 30 some years, in the studio with Brian Culbertson adding some bass parts on BC’s song. Check out this video as Nate lays down the vamp out.

Sponsored by Samson, Hartke and Zoom, the International Bassist Award (IBA) was given to legendary bassist Nathan Watts. This special award was presented by Samson Vice President, Operations, Jack Knight and bassist Victor Wooten on Friday night during the  2010 NAMM Convention in Anaheim CA. The event included an evening of extraordinary musicians and featured hit songs that Nathan has produced, recorded and played on during his 32 year career as Stevie Wonders sideman and musical director.

CEO and President of Samson, Scott Goodman gave Nate a wonderful introduction. Stevie Wonder then opened the evening ranting Nate’s name, got the party started and segued into the opening song “I Wish”.  During the show Nathan was accompanied on stage by Stevie’s full band, featuring the talent of bassists Marcus Miller and Stu Hamm, lifelong friends guitarist Ray Parker Jr. and drummer Ollie Brown. Guest appearances followed by Byron Miller, Ndugu Chancler,  “Ready” Freddie Washington, J.D. DeServio, Vincent Bonham and sax man Mike Phillips.
